Job summary

Optima Living in Canada is seeking a Recreation Assistant to support the planning and delivery of therapeutic recreation for residents, aligning with the company’s person-centred care approach. Qualifications

  • Completion of a recognized recreation and leisure program is an asset.
  • Minimum of one year experience in recreation programming or activities.
  • Experience in a residential care or mental health environment is an asset.
  • Active CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Active Food Safe certification.
  • Active Serving It Right certification.
  • Valid Class 4 driver’s license is an asset or willing to obtain.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver person-centred recreation programs that reflect all dimensions of wellness.
  • Coordinating and implementing recreational initiatives through engaging activities.
  • Collaborate on resident profiles and assessments to set meaningful goals.
  • Interviews with residents/families to gather past activity information as directed.
