Job summary

WeeCare Pediatric Home Health Care in St. George, Ontario, seeks a Pediatric Registered Practical Nurse to deliver in-home care in coordination with families and care plans. The role emphasizes safety, comfort, and consistent support for the child and family.

These full-time shifts typically run 22:30–08:30, with four shifts per week. Applicants must hold an Ontario license, BLS, a recent VSC, and PLI; training and a supportive team are provided.

Qualifications

• Licensed and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
• Experience working with pediatric clients
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) completed within the past 6 months
• Professional Liability Insurance (PLI)

Responsibilities

• Provide G/GJ tube care and management (if applicable)
• Provide tracheostomy care and management (if applicable)
• Administer and document medications as prescribed, in accordance with CNO standards
• Monitor and ensure safekeeping of medications and narcotics
• Maintain the child’s records and documentation per CNO standards
• Assist the child with personal care, hygiene, and activities of daily living
• Observe and report changes in the child’s condition to the parent/guardian and WeeCare
• Assist with ambulation, mobilization, transfers, and use of adaptive aids
• Demonstrate understanding of the child’s needs and support the child in maximizing abilities
• Provide cognitive, social, emotional, and psychological support to the child and family
• Respond to child and family concerns and ensure appropriate follow-up
• Maintain a safe and clean environment, including equipment and belongings
• Notify supervisor of concerns related to child’s safety, incidents, or accidents
• Complete other duties as assigned

Schedule

• Full-time; typically 4 shifts per week, 22:30–08:30 (days vary based on scheduling needs)

General Duties

• Provide G/GJ tube care and management
