Job summary

WeeCare Pediatric Home Health Care in Barrie, ON is seeking a compassionate Pediatric Registered Nurse to provide in-home care to young clients. You will coordinate with families, administer medications, manage tubes, monitor health, and document care while maintaining safety and dignity.

The position requires CNO licensure for Ontario, BLS certification, and experience with pediatric patients. Flexible part-time scheduling and a supportive team are offered to enable high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Licensed and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
• Experience working with pediatric clients.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) completed within the past 6 months.
• Professional Liability Insurance (PLI).

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home pediatric nursing care according to care plans.
• Administer and document medications per standards.
• Monitor safety and securely manage medications and narcotics.
• Maintain and file child’s records per CNO standards.
• Assist with activities of daily living and personal care.
• Observe changes and report to family and WeeCare promptly.
• Assist with mobility, transfers, and adaptive aids.
• Support child’s cognitive, social, emotional and psychological needs.
• Respond to concerns and ensure appropriate follow-up.
• Keep environment clean and safe and manage equipment.
• Notify supervisor of safety concerns, incidents, or accidents.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

Position

Pediatric Registered Nurse in Barrie, ON.

Schedule

• Part-time shifts; 19:00–08:00 (days vary based on scheduling needs)

Please note: To be considered for this position, applicants must be able to commit to a consistent weekly schedule.

General Duties

• Provide G/GJ tube care and management
• Administer and document medications as prescribed, in accordance with CNO medication administration standards
• Monitor and ensure the safekeeping of medications and narcotics
• Maintain the child's records and required documentation in accordance with CNO standards
• Assist the child with personal care, hygiene, and activities of daily living
• Observe and report changes in the child's condition to the parent/guardian and WeeCare
• Assist with ambulation, mobilization, transfers, and use of adaptive aids
• Demonstrate understanding of the child’s needs and support the child in maximizing their abilities
• Provide cognitive, social, emotional, and psychological support to the child and family
• Respond to child and family concerns and ensure appropriate follow-up
• Assist in maintaining a safe and cleanly environment, including the child’s equipment and belongings
• Notify the supervisor of any concerns related to the child’s safety, incidents, or accidents
• Complete other duties as assigned

Requirements
