Job summary

WeeCare Pediatric Home Health Care in Saint George, ON, is seeking a dedicated Pediatric Registered Nurse to provide in-home care for children during night shifts.

You will administer medications, manage tubes and tracheostomies, document care, and collaborate with families to support daily living and safety.

A valid CNO license, BLS, and background checks are required, with flexible scheduling and a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing with the Ontario College of Nurses (CNO).
• Pediatric home health experience preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Vulnerable Sector Check completed within the past 6 months and PLI coverage.

Responsibilities

• Provide G/GJ tube care and management.
• Provide tracheostomy care and management.
• Administer and document medications per CNO standards.
• Monitor and safeguard medications and narcotics.
• Maintain child records and documentation per CNO standards.
• Assist with activities of daily living and personal care.
• Observe, report changes to caregivers and WeeCare.
• Assist with mobility, transfers, and adaptive aids.
• Support child’s cognitive, social, emotional, and psychological needs.

Position

Pediatric Registered Nurse in St. George, ON.

Schedule

• Full-time; typically 4 shifts per week, 22:30–08:30 (days vary based on scheduling needs)

Please note: To be considered for this position, applicants must be able to commit to a consistent weekly schedule.

General Duties

• Provide G/GJ tube care and management
• Provide tracheostomy care and management
• Administer and document medications as prescribed, in accordance with CNO medication administration standards
• Monitor and ensure the safekeeping of medications and narcotics
• Maintain the child's records and required documentation in accordance with CNO standards
• Assist the child with personal care, hygiene, and activities of daily living
• Observe and report changes in the child's condition to the parent/guardian and WeeCare
• Assist with ambulation, mobilization, transfers, and use of adaptive aids
• Demonstrate understanding of the child’s needs and support the child in maximizing their abilities
• Provide cognitive, social, emotional, and psychological support to the child and family
• Respond to child and family concerns and ensure appropriate follow-up
• Assist in maintaining a safe and cleanly environment, including the child’s equipment and belongings
• Notify the supervisor of any concerns related to the child’s safety, incidents, or accidents
• Complete other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Licensed and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
• Experience working with pediatric clients
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) completed within the past 6 months
• Professional Liability Insurance (PLI)
