Job summary

VON Canada is a not-for-profit organization offering home and community care for 125+ years. As a Visiting nurse, you will deliver holistic, person-centred care in clients' homes, clinics, or via virtual visits while building meaningful relationships with families.

You will assess, provide primary and wound care, manage chronic diseases, IV therapy, phlebotomy, rehabilitation, and palliative care. A valid RN license and a personal vehicle are required to operate in diverse settings.

Qualifications

• Must be a licensed RN in the province of practice.
• Community health experience is an asset.
• Must own a vehicle and have a valid driver's license and proof of vehicle insurance.
• Must be able to wear PPE.

Responsibilities

• Perform client assessments to develop individual care plans.
• Provide primary care in collaboration with other health professionals.
• Deliver wound care, including complex and negative pressure wounds.
• Manage chronic diseases (e.g., diabetes) and provide education.
• Administer IV therapy and CVAD management.
• Perform phlebotomy and specimen collection.
• Support rehabilitation programs and palliative/end-of-life care.
• Manage medications and ensure safety.

Our Visiting nurses provide client care in the client’s own home. They provide physical assessments, symptom control support, palliative care, rehabilitation therapy, wound care, education, counselling to individuals and families and much more.

What we're looking for:

• Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the province of practice
• Community health experience is an asset

• A satisfactory Criminal Records Check is required; a Vulnerable Sector Search and/or Child Abuse Registry Check may also be necessary
• Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
