Job summary

VON Canada is seeking a part-time Visiting Nurse in Queens County, NS. You’ll deliver holistic, person-centred care in homes, clinics, or virtually, collaborating with healthcare teams and driving to client sites.

Join a long-standing not-for-profit focused on compassionate community care. License as RN required; driving, PPE, and flexibility for evenings/weekends preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed as a RN in the province of practice.
• Ability to work in clients' homes and clinics.
• Valid driver's license, vehicle and insurance.
• Criminal Records Check may be required; PPE proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Assess clients to develop individualized care plans.
• Provide primary care in collaboration with other health professionals.
• Wound care and management, including complex and negative pressure wounds.
• Chronic disease management and education.
• IV therapy and CVAD management.
• Phlebotomy and specimen collection.
• Dialysis management.
• Rehabilitative programs.
• Palliative and end-of-life care.
• Medication management.
• Other essential nursing duties.

What we're looking for:

• Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the province of practice
• Community health experience is an asset
• Must enjoy driving, have a personal vehicle and possess both a current driver's license and proof of vehicle insurance
• A satisfactory Criminal Records Check is required; a Vulnerable Sector Search and/or Child Abuse Registry Check may also be necessary
• Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
