Job summary

VON Canada is hiring a Registered Nurse to deliver holistic, person-centered home and community care across Annapolis and Kings County, NS. You will assess clients, develop care plans, and collaborate with healthcare teams in clients’ homes, clinics, and virtual settings.

This part-time (0.8 FTE) position requires commuting, driving, and flexible shifts including days, evenings, and weekends.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the province of practice.
• Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Must enjoy driving and have a personal vehicle with a valid license and proof of insurance.

Responsibilities

• Conduct client assessments to develop care plans.
• Provide primary home-based nursing care in collaboration with other health professionals.
• Perform wound care, IV therapy, and complex medical procedures as required.
• Manage chronic diseases and patient education.
• Support palliative and end-of-life care as part of a holistic plan.

What you'll do:

• Client assessments to develop individual care plans
• Provide primary care in collaboration with other healthcare professionals
• Simple and advanced wound care, including complex and negative pressure wounds
• Chronic Disease Management, e.g. diabetes care and education
• IV therapy and CVAD management
• Phlebotomy and specimen collection
• Dialysis Management
• Rehabilitative programs

• And many other critical nursing skills

What we're looking for:

• Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the province of practice
• Community health experience is an asset
• Must enjoy driving, have a personal vehicle and possess both a current driver's license and proof of vehicle insurance
• A satisfactory Criminal Records Check is required; a Vulnerable Sector Search and/or Child Abuse Registry Check may also be necessary
• Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
