Job summary

VON Canada seeks a Registered Nurse to deliver holistic, client-centred care in patients’ homes and clinics. You will work across children, adults, and seniors, building connections while practicing to full scope with multi-provider collaboration.

The role offers diverse settings—home visits, clinics, virtual care, and outreach—alongside professional development and competitive compensation. A valid RN license and driving are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the province of practice.
• CAPCE certification is required or agreement to obtain upon hire.
• Three (3) years of experience in the community or acute care setting, with palliative focus preferred.
• Must enjoy driving, own a personal vehicle, and hold a valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance.
• Satisfactory Criminal Records Check; Vulnerable Sector/Search or Child Abuse Registry Check may be needed.
• Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Familiarity with home care and community-based nursing is an asset.

Our Visiting nurses provide client care in the client’s own home. They provide physical assessments, symptom control support, palliative care, rehabilitation therapy, wound care, education, counselling to individuals and families and much more.

• Chronic Disease Management, e.g. diabetes care and education
• IV therapy and CVAD management
• Phlebotomy and specimen collection

• Medication management
• And many other critical nursing skills

What we're looking for:

• Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the province of practice
• Community health experience is an asset
• Fundamentals of Palliative Care, or an equivalent required
• CAPCE or equivalent required or agreement to complete upon hire
• Three (3) years of experience in the community or acute care setting, with a focus on palliative care is preferred
• Must enjoy driving, have a personal vehicle and possess both a current driver's license and proof of vehicle insurance
• A satisfactory Criminal Records Check is required; a Vulnerable Sector Search and/or Child Abuse Registry Check may also be necessary
• Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
