In accordance with the established mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health, the Registered Nurse practices in accordance with the standards of professional practice and code of ethics as outlined by the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) as well as within a patient and family centered care model.
The Registered Nurse - Perinatal, working collaboratively with the inter-professional team, plans and provides direct patient care to obstetrical patients during the intra, postpartum and high-risk antepartum periods and other assigned patients by assessing, planning, providing and evaluating nursing care. The Registered Nurse demonstrates a specialized body of knowledge and bases practice on nursing science and related content from other sciences and humanities.
Shift Rotation/Hours of work: Days, Nights - 07:00 to 19:00, 19:00 to 07:00, Rotating
Fort St. John Hospital and Health Centre has 44 Acute Care beds and 124 residential beds and is equipped to handle 22,000 ER visits per year. Some highlights about the hospital:

Fort St. John is known as "The Energetic City," reflecting the large resource base of oil, natural gas, forestry and agriculture. It overlooks the Peace River and serves as the capital of the Peace River district. The population is over 21,400 with a service area of approximately 70,000. The community offers cultural facilities, schools, a Northern Lights College campus, and additional information about the area is available on the Northern Health site.
