AgeCare Ltd. in Oshawa, Ontario, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to collaborate with the Director of Care in delivering resident care within their competency.

The RN will apply professional standards to ensure safe, ethical services and promote a culture of resident safety and dignity. The role focuses on coordinating nursing services, leading shift reports, documenting changes, and processing physician orders promptly.

Qualifications

• A sound knowledge and background in geriatric, rehabilitation or long-term care nursing including activation, nursing, and personnel administration.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
• Registration and membership in good standing with provincial registry.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates nursing and other services for the residents within the neighbourhood and with other services within the residence.
• Leads shift report with members of the health care team, ensuring that all team members are informed of changes in residents’ status.
• Records significant changes in residents’ condition; ensures documentation in the residents’ chart adheres to AgeCare policies and procedures and Provincial College of Nurses and Standards of Practice.
• Reviews and processes physician orders as per procedure, ensuring orders are implemented as soon as possible.
• Immediately communicates difficulties in processing physician orders to the Director of Care/Assistant Director of Care.
