Job summary

AgeCare is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) in Ontario to provide professional nursing care to residents and supervise Personal Support Workers. The role collaborates with the RN to implement policies and ensures high-quality bedside care within the unit.

You will liaise with physicians and the health care team, participate in shift reports, and monitor resident status for timely communication and actions. A Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario is required.

Qualifications

• Sound knowledge of geriatric, rehabilitation or long-term care nursing.
• Familiarity with applicable Ontario acts and regulations.
• Current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario and active membership.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the RN to implement AgeCare policies on the unit.
• Provide direction to Personal Support Workers on care delivery.
• Liaise with physicians and the health care team regarding resident status.
• Notify physician of significant changes in resident status when RN is unavailable.
