Job summary

Newmont Corporation's Brucejack Mine in northern British Columbia seeks a Surface Maintenance Millwright to ensure safe, reliable operation of surface assets.

You will perform preventive maintenance on conveyors, crushers, pumps and rotating equipment, read blueprints, and maintain records in SAP CMMS.

This remote camp-based role offers private rooms, meals, gym, recreation, 13 days on, 13 days off, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Red Seal Millwright certification is required.
• 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, conveyors, crushers, cranes, and rotating equipment.
• Welding experience is an asset.
• Working knowledge of SAP CMMS is preferred.
• Strong communication, teamwork and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and overhauls on surface equipment including conveyors, crushers, pumps, compressors, fans, and feeders.
• Complete maintenance work in accordance with safety standards, asset management processes, and work management systems.
• Maintain equipment to design specifications and contribute to reliability improvement initiatives.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Collaborate with planners and maintenance teams to ensure tools, materials, and parts are available for scheduled work.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records within SAP CMMS.
• Support a strong safety culture through participation in safety meetings, documentation, and risk management activities.

Our Brucejack Gold Mine, a high-grade underground mine in beautiful northern British Columbia, is located approximately 65 kilometres north of Stewart. Brucejack is a fly-in/fly-out operation with pick-up points across Western Canada, making it easy for people from different places to join us. We work closely with local First Nations communities including the Nisga’a, Tahltan, Gitanyow, and Gitxsan, to build respectful partnerships and celebrate our shared community.

Your Impact

As a Surface Maintenance Millwright, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of key surface assets. Your expertise in maintenance, troubleshooting, and equipment repairs will help maximize equipment availability and support safe production across the operation.

• Red Seal Millwright Certification.
• 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience.

• Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, conveyors, crushers, cranes, and rotating equipment.
• Welding experience is considered an asset.
• Working knowledge of SAP CMMS is preferred.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.

Work Environment

• Remote camp-based mining operation.
• 13 days on, 13 days off rotation, with additional travel days.
• 12-hour shifts in a dynamic industrial environment.
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions and wear required PPE.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and pass a pre-employment medical assessment.

The expected salary range for this role is CAD $63.35/hr + 10% STIP. This range is tied to the British Columbia market for jobs performed in British Columbia. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience.
