Job summary

Newmont Corporation seeks a Sample Preparation Technician for its Brucejack operation in British Columbia. The role is based at a remote mine-site assay laboratory, with hands-on safety-critical, production-focused duties and shift work in a quiet but demanding environment.

You will safely prepare and process geological samples, perform routine checks, and document QA/QC, contributing to high-quality assay results and lab efficiency. A strong safety mindset and teamwork are essential.

Responsibilities

• Safely receive, sort, dry, crush, split, and pulverize samples per SOPs.
• Support daily assay laboratory operations while meeting safety and KPI targets.
• Log samples, prepare labels, and complete QA/QC and production documentation.
• Conduct routine equipment checks and basic preventive maintenance.
• Identify and report abnormal conditions, unsafe work, or equipment issues.
• Collaborate with lab supervisors to support continuous improvement

About Brucejack

Our Brucejack Gold Mine, a high-grade underground mine in beautiful northern British Columbia, is located approximately 65 kilometres north of Stewart. Brucejack is a fly-in/fly-out operation with pick-up points across Western Canada, making it easy for people from different places to join us. Your impact

As a Sample Preparation Technician at Newmont, you play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of geological and metallurgical data. Your work directly supports safe, efficient laboratory operations and high‑quality assay results that inform operational and business decisions.

As part of our team you will

• Safely receive, sort, dry, crush, split, and pulverize samples in accordance with SOPs and laboratory quality standards
• Support daily assay laboratory operations while achieving safety and production KPIs
• Accurately log samples, prepare labels, and complete QA/QC and production documentation
• Perform routine equipment checks, basic preventive maintenance, and housekeeping
• Identify, record, and report abnormal conditions, unsafe work, or equipment issues
• Collaborate with lab supervisors and team members to support continuous improvement

Prerequisites for your success in this role

• Experience in sample preparation, laboratory, mill, or mining environments preferred
• Strong commitment to safety, quality, and procedural compliance
• Ability to perform physically demanding work in a production‑based environment
• Basic equipment operation skills and strong attention to detail
• Reliable, team‑oriented mindset with a willingness to complete required training

The expected salary range for this role is CA$34.11/hr . This range is tied to the British Columbia market for jobs performed in British Columbia. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job‑related education, training, and/or experience.
