The Pacific National Exhibition is an iconic institution in BC, famous for bringing generations of people together to celebrate and build memories. This 115-year-old, non-profit organization has an annual operating budget of over $70 million and generates revenue through four activity streams: the 15-day annual summer Fair with over 700,000 visitors, Playland amusement park with 400,000 guests including Fright Nights, and a year-round schedule of events including concerts, trade shows, and cultural activities, attracting over 2 million visitors annually. The fourth stream involves park care and facility maintenance. The PNE prides itself on its vibrant team dedicated to events, guest experience, and memorable experiences.

We seek an experienced Recruitment Specialist passionate about exceptional candidate experience. Reporting to the Manager, People & Culture, this role manages full-cycle recruitment across all organizational levels, supporting broader initiatives and working closely with hiring managers to develop strategies and assessment tools.

What will you do this year?

  • Lead full-cycle recruitment for various roles
  • Create and maintain job postings, screening templates, and interview guides
  • Use multiple sourcing channels to attract diverse candidates
  • Prepare onboarding documentation and manage electronic files
  • Utilize applicant tracking systems (iCIMS)
  • Coordinate online orientation materials
  • Organize job fairs and manage logistics
  • Document recruitment processes and procedures
  • Apply best practices to identify and hire top talent
  • Partner with hiring managers on hiring strategies
  • Support HR initiatives and new hire orientations
  • Perform other duties as assigned

What else?

  • Degree or diploma in Business or Human Resources, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum two years full-cycle recruitment experience
  • Strong computer skills and experience with HR systems
  • Experience in a unionized environment is an asset
  • Positive, proactive team player with adaptability and confidentiality
  • Availability for extended hours during peak periods
  • Successful Criminal Record Check required
