This 115-year-old, non-profit organization has an annual operating budget of over $70 million dollars and generates revenue through four activity streams:the 15-day annual summer Fair which averages more than 700,000 people annually, Playland amusement park which welcomes 400,000 guests annually including Fright Nights, and a busy year-round portfolio of events including concerts, trade shows and film, cultural and community events. In total we bring over 2 million people through the site each year. The fourth activity stream is park care and facility maintenance. We are seeking an experienced professional with a passion for delivering exceptional candidate experience. The Recruitment Specialist will join the PNE’s People & Culture Department and report to the Manager, People & Culture. This role is responsible for full-cycle recruitment for positions across all levels of the organization. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple recruitment processes simultaneously while supporting broader recruitment initiatives. The Recruitment Specialist will work closely with hiring managers across departments to develop effective recruitment strategies, timelines, and assessment tools, while also providing recommendations to enhance recruitment practices in alignment with the goals of the organization.

What will you do this year?

  • Lead full-cycle recruitment for a range of roles across all levels of the organization, from entry-level to management and professional positions.
  • Develop and maintain job postings, phone screening templates, and interview guides tailored to each vacancy.
  • Leverage multiple sourcing channels—including job boards, social media, and professional networks—to attract a diverse and qualified candidate pool.
  • Prepare new hire documentation and maintain accurate electronic employee files.
  • Update and manage candidate information using our applicant tracking system (iCIMS).
  • Coordinate and update online orientation materials in alignment with process improvements and policy changes.
  • Plan, organize, and participate in job fairs, including managing logistics and promotional materials.
  • Document recruitment processes and other People & Culture procedures as needed.
  • Apply recruitment best practices to identify, screen, and hire top talent.
  • Partner with hiring managers to provide guidance on effective hiring strategies and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Support the People & Culture team with recruitment-related administrative tasks.
  • Assist with the delivery and coordination of new hire orientations across all employee groups.
  • Contribute to various HR initiatives and special projects as assigned by the Manager, People & Culture.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

What else?

  • Must have an undergraduate degree or diploma in Business or Human Resources, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of two years of experience executing full-cycle recruitment is required.
  • Strong computer skills are necessary to effectively use systems and technologies related to People & Culture functions.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment, including collective agreement administration, is considered an asset.
  • The candidate should be a team player who is positive, proactive, and willing to go above and beyond.
  • The ability to adapt in a complex environment with multiple peak seasons is essential.
  • The candidate must be self-motivated, able to work independently, and capable of meeting deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
  • Strong verbal communication and professional business writing skills are required.
  • The ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion is essential.
  • Availability to work extended hours during peak periods is required.
  • Candidates must successfully complete a Criminal Record Check.

Where and when to APPLY?

The PNE's compensation offerings are in alignment with a pay-for-performance pay philosophy that recognizes individual, and teamwork performance. The role is a permanent, full-time position with a typical salary range of $65,000 - $75,000 per annum. The starting salary will be based on the successful candidate’s competencies, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, experience, and internal pay structures. As a part of the PNE's total compensation package, this position may be eligible for other benefits subject to program eligibility requirements.
