Job summary

YWCA Halifax in Halifax, NS, is seeking a Recruitment Coordinator to provide comprehensive HR support with a focus on recruitment, onboarding, and lifecycle administration. The role requires a detail-oriented HR professional who can coordinate recruitment activities and support hiring managers while ensuring compliant, efficient processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree/Certificate in Human Resource Management, Business or Labour Relations.
• 1-3 years of experience in a human resource or administrative role.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Exceptional communication, verbal, and written skills.
• Superior organizational and administrative skills; strong computer skills.
• Experience with anti-oppressive and trauma-informed approaches.
• Support feminist values and services for women, girls, and gender diverse people.

Responsibilities

• Prepare job postings.
• Review and forward resumes to appropriate Manager/Director and maintain files.
• Assist with development and standardization of job descriptions.
• Assist with pre-screening questions for candidates when required.
• Assist with interviews and selection process of candidates.
• Process criminal record checks and vulnerable sector checks when requested.
• Ensure proper hiring documentation is received and authorized.
• Maintain personnel records for current and past employees.
• Develop and maintain staff information resources.
• Design and develop a standardized onboarding process.
• Manage check lists for new and departing employees.
• Ensure new hire packages are up to date/complete.
• Manage all required HR forms.
• Ensure employees have required training (first aid, WHMIS) and arrange training opportunities.
• Maintain a list of employment centres, websites and organizations for job postings.
• Liaise with IRCC to provide appropriate documentation and support for foreign workers.
• Partner with local universities and other external partners to advertise job opportunities.
