Southbridge Care Homes in Shelburne, Ontario, is seeking a Recreation Manager to lead activity programming across our long-term care homes. You will develop and manage budgets, supervise a diverse team, and coordinate events and community engagements to enhance residents' well-being.

The role requires a postsecondary diploma/degree in recreation and leisure studies or gerontology, plus health-care experience, strong English and French communication, and organizational excellence.

Formación

• Postsecondary diploma/degree in recreation and leisure studies or gerontology.
• Minimum 1 year experience in a health care setting.
• Experience in planning, developing and evaluating group programming for residents.

Responsabilidades

• Develop, implement and monitor department budget.
• Co-ordinate bus trips, entertainment and vendors.
• Supervise recreation, pastoral care, social work, music therapy and massage therapy teams.
• Promote activities through social media (≥4 Facebook posts/month).
• Orientate/supervise staff or volunteers.
• Evaluate program success with resident-focused evaluations.
• Plan and lead a variety of events and engage residents regularly.
• Coordinate MDS assessments and ensure timely completion.
• Participate in inter-disciplinary team conferences and related committees.
• Schedule program department and approve payroll hours.
• Utilize computer tools: Word; Excel; Welbi or Activity Pro.
• Engage with community organizations and services.
