Job summary

Bass Pro Shops in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia is seeking a Full Time Receiving Lead to oversee the day-to-day operation of the front end and backroom department, reporting to the Operations Manager.

You will supervise a team, train staff on procedures, handle receiving of POs, maintain accuracy, deliver legendary customer service, and support store-wide programs and initiatives. This role requires open availability, weekend shifts, and the ability to stand for long periods.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of supervisory experience in a sales or service environment.
• Attention to detail to ensure accuracy of work.
• Open availability – store opening and closing shifts, weekends.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to provide superior customer service and exceed expectations.
• Physically able to stand for extended periods and move boxes of merchandise.
• Steel-toe boots are required.
• Must be able to obtain a PAL license.
• Experience in a related field or outdoor lifestyle is an asset.
• Knowledge of Bass Pro Shops & Cabela’s products is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision and leadership to the department team in partnership with the manager.
• Delegate tasks and give clear directions, and follow up to ensure proper execution.
• Foster growth by training staff on standard operating procedures and processes.
• Ensure adherence to procedures and systems, provide guidance, and report violations to the manager.
• Perform administrative tasks related to the department.
• Systematically receive P.O.’s that come into the building.
• Provide legendary customer service by identifying needs and recommending products.
• Promote company programs to team members and customers.
• Handle tasks like folding, repackaging, sorting, facing and re-hanging Bass Pro/Cabela’s Canada products.
• Maintain count of all packages and verify against packing slips.
• Assist in other areas of the store as needed.

Job description

Summary

Reporting to the Operations Manager (Front end - Backroom), the Full Time Receiving Lead is responsible for overseeing the successful day to day operation of a retail store department.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision and leadership to the team members of the department, in partnership with the manager
• Delegate tasks and work assignment to team members by giving clear and concise direction, and follow up to ensure proper execution
• Foster the growth and development of team members by training various standard operating procedures and processes
• Ensure team members follow all standard operating procedures and systems processes, following up to provide correction and guidance when needed, and reporting violations to the manager
• Perform administrative tasks related to their assigned department
• Systematically receive P.O.’s that come into the building
• Provide legendary customer service by identifying and evaluating customers’ needs, and making product recommendations based off this analysis
• Promote company programs to team members and customers
• Perform tasks including folding, repackaging, sorting, facing and re-hanging of newly arriving Bass Pro/Cabela’s Canada product
• Physical count of all packages coming into the building and verify count with packing slip
• Assist in other areas of the store when business needs dictate

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred

• Ability to use good judgment and logic
• Steel toes work boots are required
• Must be able to obtain a PAL license
• Experience in a related field or outdoor lifestyle
• Knowledge of Bass Pro Shops & Cabela’s specific products is an asset
