Job summary

Vaco by Highspring is seeking an experienced Rating Specialist focused on timely rating of customer freight bills with accuracy and attention to detail. The role emphasizes transportation expertise and cross-border billing, supporting revenue enhancement and customer service.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a transportation environment.
  • Experience with LTL & FTL operations (domestic and/or cross-border).
  • Solid understanding of freight rate processes and applications in transportation (LTL/FTL).
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Proficiency in TMS, Excel, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Rate freight bill orders for LTL, FTL, Warehouse, Courier, and Retail in cross-border business.
  • Communicate information regarding shipments to internal teams and customers.
  • Resolve issues quickly and efficiently.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external personnel.
  • Provide accurate information to relevant parties.
  • Manage freight bills and supporting documentation as required.
  • Ensure accurate data entry, documentation, imaging of documents, and billing of freight bills.
  • Monitor rating process and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage day-to-day Rating with core objectives for accuracy and revenue enhancement.
  • Continuously work to maximize company revenue.
  • Help identify opportunities to support business growth.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Overview

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Rating Specialist with a strong background in Transportation. This role

is focused on rating customer freight bills on time with attention to detail, accuracy, and proficiency.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two (2) years of hands-on experience in a transportation environment, with the ability to manage time, communicate effectively with internal/external personnel, and ensure accuracy with high service levels for customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Rate freight bill Orders for: Less-than-Truckload, Full-Truckload, Warehouse, Courier, and Retail in a cross-border business.
  • Communicate relevant information regarding shipments, including updating internal teams and customers.
  • Resolve issues quickly and efficiently.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with company internal and external personnel.
  • Provide accurate information to relevant parties.
  • Management of freight bills and supporting documentation for internal and external parties as required.
  • Ensure accurate data entry, documentation, imaging of documents, and billing of freight bills.
  • Monitor rating process and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Manage day-to-day Rating with core objectives for accuracy and revenue enhancement.
