Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Quality Inspector for the weekend shift in Markham, ON. You will perform visual inspections on electronic assemblies, measure conformity to specifications, and log results in our systems.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of electronic quality control or inspection experience.
  • Hands-on knowledge of AOI machines.
  • Proficiency with microscopes for inspecting electronic assemblies.
  • Ability to read assembly documentation and technical instructions.
  • Experience logging data in inspection/production systems.
  • Background in electronics QC/QA or inspection.
  • Not suitable for candidates with only school-based soldering experience.

Job Title: Quality Inspector Weekend Shift
Job Description

The Quality Inspector Weekend Shift performs detailed visual inspections and measurements of electronic products to ensure they meet established quality standards. This role independently verifies conformance to specifications, records inspection data, rejects nonconforming materials, and operates technical visual inspection equipment such as Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) systems. The position supports continuous improvement by collaborating on issue resolution and following defined processes when non-conformances are detected.

Responsibilities
  • Independently perform product visual inspections and measurements to verify compliance with specifications and quality standards.

  • Record accurate inspection data in the appropriate computer systems and documentation.

  • Identify and reject nonconforming materials in accordance with established procedures.

  • Operate Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) equipment and other technical visual inspection devices.

  • Use microscopes and other inspection tools to examine electronic assemblies and components.

  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to resolve quality issues and support root cause analysis.

  • Follow defined action plans when non-conformances are detected to prevent recurrence.

  • Utilize the Stop, Call, Wait, and Escalate process to report recurring defects and quality concerns to supervisors.

  • Participate in Tier meetings as needed to discuss quality performance, issues, and improvements.

  • Read and interpret assembly documentation to understand product requirements and inspection criteria.

  • Log inspection results and defect information into computer systems accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support production and quality objectives.

Essential Skills
  • Minimum 2 years of electronic quality control or inspection experience.

  • Hands‑on experience or strong knowledge of Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) machines.

  • Proficiency in using microscopes for detailed visual inspection of electronic assemblies.

  • Ability to read and understand assembly documentation and related technical instructions.

  • Computer skills for logging inspection data and navigating inspection or production systems.

  • Background in quality control, quality assurance, or inspection in an electronics environment.

  • Capability to identify nonconforming materials and apply established quality standards.

  • Not suitable for candidates with only school‑based soldering experience and no practical inspection Background.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Good knowledge of Surface Mount Technology (SMT), Through‑Hole (TH), or mixed‑technology assemblies in accordance with IPC‑A‑610 standards.

  • Electronics manufacturing experience, including familiarity with electronic and electrical components.

  • Exposure to reading schematics and understanding basic electronic circuits.

  • Practical soldering experience in a professional electronics manufacturing context.

  • Interest in working in a contract role with potential for extension.

Work Environment

This role operates in a generally clean electronics manufacturing environment on a weekend shift schedule. You may occasionally be exposed to dust, metals, solder, and higher noise levels from operating machines, as well as physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts. Designated personal protective equipment (PPE) and electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection must be worn where required. The environment includes the use of AOI machines, microscopes, and computer systems for inspection and data logging, supporting a structured and safety‑conscious workplace

This is a Contract position based out of Markham, ON.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job‑related factors.
