Aerotek is seeking a Data Center Technician for contract work based out of Prince George, BC. This role involves hands-on support for construction and commissioning of large-scale data centers, with exposure to structured cabling, fiber optics, and networking infrastructure.

The position requires 3–6 months of construction experience and strong communication skills. Schedule includes a rotation system; per diem, with hotels and flights covered, and weekly pay offered.

Qualifications

• Experience with low voltage troubleshooting and pulling wire.
• Knowledge of data cable, copper, and fiber optics.
• Proficiency in cable pulling, electrical work, and using hand tools.
• Minimum of 3-6 months of construction experience in roles such as electrician, laborer, or telecommunications.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on ladders, overhead cable trays, and raised floors.
• Comfortable with FIFO and 3/1 rotation.
• CSTS certification is a plus.
• Experience with power, cooling, racks, and cabling.
• Previous data center experience is advantageous.

This role provides exposure to structured cabling, fiber optics, networking infrastructure, and overall data center operations.

Work Environment

Travel to and from sites is facilitated through carpooling or buses. The role includes three different shifts and living situations, with varied overtime opportunities and differing days off.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Prince George, BC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $39.00 - $42.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job‑related factors.
