Job summary

Interfor is seeking a Quality Control Intern in Elk Lake, Ontario, to apply classroom knowledge in a real mill environment. You will work alongside experienced professionals, collecting data, participating in inspections, and supporting quality improvements.

The role is on-site with a May 2027 start for a 4 to 8 month term. Intern compensation is provided, including a temporary living allowance for those relocating to the area.

Qualifications

• Working towards a degree or diploma in forestry, supply chain, or related engineering fields.
• Strong interest in quality control and manufacturing processes.
• Comfortable using MS Office tools and data analysis basics.

Responsibilities

• Learn how quality control supports production of wood products.
• Collect and interpret quality data from mill areas.
• Participate in inspections and process reviews to identify improvements.
• Assist with quality improvement projects and performance tracking.
• Collaborate with operations and leadership to support quality initiatives.
• Build hands-on experience solving manufacturing challenges.

What You’ll Do
