Job summary

Interfor in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario is offering an on-site Operations Intern position for a 4- to 8-month May start. You will work with seasoned pros to learn how a modern sawmill operates, analyze data, and contribute to process improvements while developing leadership and problem-solving skills.

The internship provides competitive compensation starting at CAD 3,350 per month, plus a temporary living allowance for relocation to the area.

Qualifications

  • Ideal candidate pursues a degree/diploma in Wood Products Processing, Business, Ops Management or related program.
  • You are committed to maintaining a safe work environment and learning in a manufacturing setting.
  • You are curious, hands-on and eager to learn how a modern sawmill operates.
  • You communicate clearly and collaborate with cross-functional teams; proficient with MS Office.

Responsibilities

  • Gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Explore production processes and learn how teams work together to safely produce wood products.
  • Contribute to projects focused on process improvement and operational efficiency.
  • Analyze data and observations to identify opportunities for improvement.
