Job summary

Caledon Public Library, Southfields Village Branch, 225 Dougall Ave, Caledon, ON L7C 3M7, CAN, is seeking a Coordinator, Public Service. Reporting to the Branch Manager, you’ll deliver daily branch services, including borrower support, reference and readers’ advisory, and user-support for library tech and digital resources.

The role requires a Library Technician Diploma or equivalent, with 1 year library experience and 2+ years in customer service.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary diploma in Library Technician or equivalent.
• 1 year library experience; 2 years in a customer-focused setting; 1 year in a public library preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide borrower services, reference assistance, readers’ advisory and user-support of library technologies.
• Perform all circulation functions: check in/out, register patrons, collect fees and place holds.
• Provide Interlibrary Loan service to patrons.
• Maintain a welcoming, inclusive branch environment; assist as Person in Charge (PIC).
• Coordinate branch programs and monitor staffing as scheduled PIC.
