Job summary

PCL Constructors Canada Inc. in Halifax, Nova Scotia is seeking a Proposals Student to gain hands-on experience on submission documents for EOIs, RFQs and RFPs.

You will work with a small team of Proposal Specialists and participate in strategic planning sessions to translate vision into compelling proposals. In this 4-month term starting January 2027, you will develop skills in proposal layout, graphic design in InDesign, and content creation while receiving mentorship and career-building

Qualifications

• Working towards a degree or diploma in a communications-related field (communications, public relations, marketing, etc.).
• Strong written communication and collaboration skills.
• Competency with Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
• Knowledge of social media platforms and the ability to tailor content to each platform as required.

Responsibilities

• Works with a small team of Proposal Specialists on submission documents (EOI, RFQ, RFP).
• Assists with RFP review, outline development, and timeline assignments.
• Participates in Strategic Visioning and Proposal Planning sessions with stakeholders.
• Assists in researching data to create submission documents.
• Helps translate a proposalVision into compelling layouts and graphics using InDesign.
• Aids in assembling and reviewing responses for compliance and content.

Join us as aProposals Studentfor our Atlantic Canadadistrict, within our Canadian Buildings sectorfor 4 months starting January 2027. Depending on your assigned project as a Proposals Student, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our team by:

• Works with a small team of Proposal Specialists on submission documents that may include: Expressions of Interest (EOI); Requests for Qualifications (RFQ); Requests for Proposal (RFP).
• Assists with RFP review process including reviewing RFP requirements, development of proposal outline and timeline/assignments
• Participates in the kick-off 'Strategic Visioning' and Proposal Planning session, ensuring that all key proposal stakeholders are represented.
• Assists with researching key submission data necessary to create a submission document.
• Assists with translating a proposal 'Vision' into a compelling proposal layout and graphic design working primarily in InDesign, and creating compelling graphics and visual communication strategies, including strategic image selection and/or acquisition.
• Assists in the assembly and review of responses for compliance, accuracy and content, and coordinate/ participate in review sessions with teammates/ stakeholders to ensure the integrity of all documents and solutions.
• Assists with filing and organizing of resources within Marketing & Communications environment.
• Works with our communications specialist to develop/prepare messaging and content for community involvement initiatives and campaigns.
• Assists with writing and editing material for conferences and events.
• Captures and organizes photography for ads, social media, and other marketing materials.
• Other duties as required.
