Job summary

PCL Constructors Canada Inc. in Ottawa, Ontario is seeking a Building Systems Student to support mechanical and electrical coordination on real projects. You will review shop drawings, assist with site installations and quality control, and learn from our experienced team.

This four-month co-op program offers hands-on experience, mentorship, and a path toward full-time roles. Competitive weekly pay and benefits are provided, with accommodation for student schedules.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Update and submit mechanical and electrical shop drawings.

Join us as aBuilding Systems Studentfor our Ottawadistrict, within our Canadian Buildings sectorfor 4 months starting January 2027. Depending on your assigned project as a Building Systems Student, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our team by:

• Updates and submits mechanical and electrical shop drawings.
• Reviews and verifies site installations.
• Assists with quality control.
• Updates and inputs the commissioning schedule.
• Witnesses and coordinates commissioning activities.
• Assists with Request for Information (RFI) tracking and processing.
• Performs on-site coordination with trades and reviews progress on site.
• Assists other project managers on the project related to other disciplines/trades.

Qualifications

• Working towards a degree or diploma in a mechanical engineering related field.
• A passion for working in a construction environment.
• Ability to review shop and construction drawings.
• Self-motivation with a hands-on approach.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, with a variety of different partners.
• Prior field construction experience is considered an asset.

The estimated salary range for this role is$21.25 to $30.00,based on your experience and qualifications. Final compensation will be confirmed as part of a personalized offer.
