Job summary

PCL Constructors Inc. in Halifax, Nova Scotia, invites applications for a Business Technology Student in our Atlantic Canada district. This 4-month paid student role offers hands-on experience, mentoring, and exposure to real projects within a supportive team.

You will set up users, assist with upgrades, manage equipment assets, and create Excel reports while developing in-demand IT and customer service skills. Email us at careers@pcl.com for details.

Qualifications

  • Working towards a degree or diploma in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  • Proficient knowledge of computers (Microsoft Office, basic hardware support).
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to provide exceptional customer service.
  • Ability to evaluate and integrate technology as it relates to business needs.
  • Basic hardware and networking skills.

Responsibilities

  • Setting up new users, printers and workstations and providing phone and in-person support to the district – both in the office and at various site locations.
  • Participating in upgrades and rollouts.
  • Assisting with equipment asset and licensing management.
  • Creating reports using Microsoft Excel.
  • Tracking, escalating, and following up on IT related issues.
  • Attending weekly team meetings.
  • Moving monitors and other hardware/equipment between sites.
  • Assisting with inventory and auditing computing equipment.
  • Assisting in a variety of other customer service and systems related tasks as required.

Join us as aBusiness Technology Studentfor our Atlantic Canada district, within our Canadian Corporate sectorfor 4 months starting January 2027. Depending on your assigned project as a Business Technology Student, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our team by:
