Job summary

PCL Constructors Canada Inc. in Atlantic Canada seeks an Administrative Student for our Halifax, Nova Scotia district. You will gain hands-on experience on real projects and learn through mentorship.

This four-month placement starting January 2027 offers weekly pay, benefits, and clear pathways to full-time roles. You will perform reception coverage, filing, data entry, document prep, board meeting support, and general office duties.

Qualifications

• Must be proficient on the computer and have intermediate skills in MS software (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Superior organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Flexible, enthusiastic, and energetic.

Responsibilities

• Fielding telephone calls, filing, and data entry, typing of various correspondence, and formatting of documents.
• Filling in for office receptionist as required.
• Performing a variety of Internet research functions.
• Preparing word documents, spreadsheets, and presentations.
• Assisting with board meeting preparation (i.e. coordination of information, preparing tabs, distribution of board material, room setup, and beverage/food setup).
• Assisting with overflow work from other administrative staff.
• Handling incoming/outgoing mail – relief in mailroom as required.
• Maintaining office supply inventory and orders as appropriate.
• Distribution of electronic invoices.
• Additional support and duties, as required.

Join us as an Administrative Studentfor our Atlantic Canadadistrict, within our Canadian Buildings sectorfor 4 months starting January 2027. Depending on your assigned project as an Administrative Student, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our team by:
