Job description

Phasor Engineering is a dynamic North America based company specializing in engineering, design, panel fabrication, and testing/commissioning of high voltage electrical facilities. Our focus is to incorporate the latest technological advances to provide the most cost-effective and efficient solutions to power system engineering. This focus allows us to be involved in a diverse range of projects from conceptual engineering through to commissioning and startup.

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Accountant to join our team on a full-time basis. This role will be based out of our Calgary, AB office.

If you are an excellent communicator and skilled problem-solver with strong attention to detail, we offer a dynamic work environment where you will be continuously challenged in all aspects of the testing and commissioning process.

Responsibilities:

1. Utilize MS Project to effectively manage and oversee project timelines, ensuring accurate scheduling and task allocation.
2. Perform project invoicing, including complex billings for various contract types.
3. Validate invoicing accuracy and completeness, review data from all sources, and ensure compliance with client contracts and MEMS policies.
4. Apply contractual obligations to work orders and rate schedules, ensuring all contract conditions are met during project setup, tracking, reporting, and close-out.
5. Contribute to development of project controls related to cost management, planning, and subcontractor management.
6. Provide project status updates and analysis to Project Managers and Project Services, including budgets, schedules, and deliverables.
7. Identify opportunities to streamline invoicing and troubleshoot related issues.
8. Analyze project financial data to enhance reporting and monitor performance.
9. Investigate and resolve unbilled WIP issues.
10. Manage WIP and AR, documenting follow-up and escalating unresolved issues.
11. Maintain project records such as purchase orders, contracts, and change orders.
12. Review and verify third-party invoices.
13. Upload and submit invoices to client billing systems (e.g., Enfos, Open Invoice, Ariba, Field Glas).
14. Eclipse and/or JDE experience is an asset.
15. Close projects upon completion within MEMS ERP and client systems.
16. Assist in creating and updating schedules to reflect changes and ensure team awareness.
17. Coordinate communication among managers and team members to foster collaboration and address challenges.

Qualifications:

1. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
2. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with keen attention to detail.
3. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
4. Previous experience in Electrical Utilities.
5. 2+ years’ experience in a similar North American role is an asset.
6. Excellent communication skills.
