The Role

We’re looking for a Senior Accountant who thrives in a fast-paced, tech-enabled environment. You love working with business owners, building long-term relationships, and being a trusted advisor. You’re someone who enjoys mentorship, solving problems, and pushing for better systems and outcomes.

This role is ideal for a CPA with at least 3 years of public practice experience who’s ready to lead files, communicate directly with clients, and make an impact within a supportive team.

Key Responsibilities

• Reconcile bank and credit card accounts, ensure transaction accuracy
• Prepare financial reports: balance sheets, income statements, cash flow reports
• Manage month-end and year-end close, including financial statement prep
• Complete compilation engagements and prepare corporate tax returns
• Handle invoicing, collections, and client communications
• Prepare and file GST/HST, T1s, T4s, T5s, and other tax slips
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc analysis
• Act as a primary client contact and attend meetings alongside managers
• Collaborate on process improvements and tech implementations
• Provide coverage for colleagues and contribute to a team-first culture
• QuickBooks Online (QBO), Xero
• Microsoft Office, Slack

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a public accounting firm
• Strong understanding of accounting concepts, tax compliance, and journal entries
• Proficiency in cloud-based accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Exceptional attention to detail, time management, and communication skills
• Comfortable managing multiple clients and priorities simultaneously
• Passion for entrepreneurship and small business
