Job description

Description

The Assistant Family Manager - High Voltage Batteries will oversee BEV Battery systems and components, typically managing up to 2 or 3 different batteries depending on complexity. The Battery Family Manager leads a cross-functional team, ensuring all deliverables and targets in the approved initiative are met throughout the product development lifecycle, including timing, cost, performance, and quality. They serve as the single point of contact for product team members within their scope of work and report to the Global Family Manager.

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  1. Managing all aspects of the assigned program to ensure achievement of cost, timing, quality, and performance goals.
  2. Coordinating cross-functional family teams involved in achieving program targets.
  3. Ensuring program budget adherence by identifying efficiencies against the approved business case.
  4. Applying procedures, best practices, and methodologies according to required standards, and leading program documentation creation, monitoring, and updates in line with Global Powertrain Development Process.
  5. Ensuring product readiness for launches by defining appropriate milestones and leading change review meetings.
  6. Reporting on program status, risk management, and issue resolution.
  7. Identifying program requirements and gathering cross-departmental data to support decision-making.
  8. Co-leading proactive risk management activities with the Quality Manager and platform team, and tracking risk status.
  9. Supporting technical reviews and evaluations related to program milestones.
  10. Supporting global purchasing and manufacturing strategies.
  11. Leading responses to investigation and action bulletins related to product or process changes.
  12. Implementing value optimization and quality improvement activities.
  13. Managing the product lifecycle, including supply chain and logistics support to ensure production continuity.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • 5-8 years of experience in product development engineering, including at least 3 years in program management within an Automotive OEM or Tier 1 supplier.
  • Strong cross-functional team management skills, with excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience in engineering design and release processes.
  • Experience in developing and recovering project timelines.
  • Experience managing development budgets.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $46.00 per hour.
