Title: Program Manager, Studio Operations

Role Overview:

At PlayStation, we're leading the charge in gaming as we push the boundaries of what's possible! We are looking for a Production Manager to join one of PlayStation Studios’ head of production support teams. This role is ideal for someone who wants to make a difference, enjoys working with creative, intelligent, and collaborative teammates, thrives in ambiguity, and is inspired by playing a critical role in building a sustainable live ops business within PlayStation.

This role supports PlayStation’s ambitions in the live service space by providing expertise, challenging the status quo, aligning the organization, developing player-centric tools & capabilities, and sharing best practices across the company. As a Production Manager, you will:

  1. Support and shadow development teams to understand challenges and needs.
  2. Document and centralize project information for internal reporting.
  3. Partner with other central teams to align and support production teams.
  4. Identify and seize opportunities for improvement in our Live Services practice.
  5. Participate in problem solving and critical mandates when needed.
  6. Advocate for the player, the development teams, the partners, and the company.
  7. Operate as an internal consultant to provide value where needed.
  8. Document and templatize best practices.
  9. Identify similarities between challenges to drive process and policy changes.
  10. Support organizational change for better Live Services agility.

The role is expected to evolve over the next 3-5 years. The ideal candidate will be adaptable to changing needs and willing to grow with the role and organization. Responsibilities and scope will be evaluated regularly to support SIE productions and Live Services initiatives.

What we're looking for:

  • Previous experience in the gaming industry, preferably in a platform environment.
  • Experience operating in live gaming ecosystems & projects.
  • A background at the intersection of entertainment, technology, data, and analytics; ideally with live operations experience.
  • Outstanding organizational, interpersonal, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to quickly understand projects to bring value and solve problems.
  • Excellent communication skills for disseminating complex information effectively.
  • Highly motivated, goal-oriented, and customer-focused.
  • Experience working on gaming platforms and delivering complex cross-functional technical projects.
  • Experience operationalizing abstract or undefined processes.
  • Ability to step into ongoing projects to solve urgent problems during emergencies.
  • Experience working with Product and PMO organizations.
  • Flexibility to manage shifting priorities and ambiguity.
  • Ability to develop alternative plans to adapt to organizational constraints.
  • Experience coaching and guiding teams, motivating others to deliver their best work.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and positive influence on culture and operations.
  • Proactive, with initiative, anticipation of issues, and problem-solving skills.
