Banff Centre is in search of a Program Manager who will be responsible for the project management of an assigned portfolio of projects primarily related to Leighton Artist Studios program delivery. The Leighton Artist Studios portfolio encompasses independent residencies for artists working on self-directed research-creation projects. A critical success metric is translating the vision of the director into an achievable, executable program within the constraints of Banff Centre’s facilities, physical location, and staff resources.
The program manager in this area should have a knowledge of the artistic disciplines as well as an understanding of the operational time and resources required to execute each program. This position will be charged with the project management, implementation, and quality control of assigned programs and events in alignment with a strong project management approach that supports the delivery of high-quality programs.
Reporting to the Director, Leighton Studios and Program Partnerships, below are some key responsibilities:
- University degree in an arts discipline, or related area of study, or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 5 years demonstrated experience in project management preferably in a creative environment
- Strong arts background
- Proven analytical and interpersonal skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite of products with advanced Excel skills
- Solid understanding of program and events, marketing, promotion and production
- Applies good management principles in an artistic environment
- Has an ability to formulate long and short-range goals, while anticipating and responding to flexible program needs
- Is an Ambassador for Banff Centre
- Production and or post-secondary institution experience is an asset, as is literacy across a broad range of arts disciplines.
Due to the nature of the job, this position requires the candidate to be available to work a flexible, irregular schedule and weekends.
- In accordance with the terms of employment governing Management/PSP employees, this is a salaried, fulltime position, subject to a 6-month probationary period.
- The salary range for this position is between $67,367 – $100,039, based on experience.
- The successful candidate will enjoy twenty paid vacation days and four personal days annually, extended medical and dental benefits, and participation in an employer-matched pension plan.
