A leading creative agency in Toronto is seeking a Product Owner to lead digital transformation initiatives for automotive clients. The role involves owning the product backlog, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring successful product delivery. Candidates should have 8-10+ years in digital products, strong Agile expertise, and excellent communication skills. This position offers a competitive salary and various benefits in a people-first culture focused on creativity and continuous learning.
WONGDOODY is hiring a Product Owner to join our growing team and to help lead a high-profile digital transformation initiative for an automotive OEM primary dot com website. This end-to-end program spans user research, content strategy, CMS replatforming, UX/UI design, front-end development, QA/testing, and launch.
As a Product Owner, you’ll guide multidisciplinary teams (UX, engineering, strategy, creative) toward delivering products and features that drive measurable impact for our clients. You’re the connective tissue — translating business needs into actionable work, ensuring the team is focused on the right outcomes, and championing the user every step of the way.
This role requires strong digital expertise, exceptional communication skills, and experience guiding cross-functional teams through complex workflows. Previous experience in Canadian automotive or OEM digital projects is highly desirable.
Own the product backlog: translate business goals, user needs, and stakeholder requirements into clear, prioritized stories and acceptance criteria
Collaborate with clients, product managers, strategists, UX designers, and engineers to define product vision, scope, and success metrics
Lead backlog refinement, sprint planning, reviews, and demonstrations to ensure alignment and transparency
Work closely with UX and research teams to validate assumptions, incorporate user insights, and advocate for human-centered design principles
Provide day-to-day guidance for engineering teams, clarify requirements, remove blockers, and make fast decisions to maintain sprint momentum
Evaluate roadmap options, dependencies, and tradeoffs; communicate impacts clearly to internal and client stakeholders
Monitor product performance using data and analytics; identify opportunities for optimization, iteration, and innovation
Ensure the final product meets quality, regulatory, and functional expectations while upholding WongDoody’s creative and experience-driven standards
Document requirements, workflows, and product decisions with precision and clarity
8-10+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or similar role within digital products, agencies, SaaS, or technology organizations
Proven ability to prioritize complex requirements, manage competing stakeholder expectations, and drive alignment in fast-moving environments
Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and experience working hands-on with cross-functional product teams
Ability to write crisp user stories, define acceptance criteria, and translate ambiguous requests into actionable work
Comfort collaborating with UX/design teams and understanding user-centered design processes and research inputs
Familiarity with technical concepts (APIs, integrations, data flows, constraints) and the ability to communicate effectively with engineers
Excellent communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills
Proficiency with modern product tools (Jira, Confluence, Figma, analytics tools, etc.)
Experience in a creative agency, digital consultancy, or multi-client service environment
Extensive experience in branded consumer-facing premium digital product experiences
Background in user research, experimentation (A/B testing), or performance analytics
Exposure to enterprise-scale products, global user bases, or complex multi-stakeholder programs
Understanding of accessibility standards and inclusive design principles
Competitive salary based on experience and region
Medical, dental, and vision benefits, 401(k) with company match, paid holidays, summer hours, VTO, and more
A collaborative, people-first culture built on creativity, curiosity, and continuous learning
Opportunities to work with global teams and contribute to high-visibility projects across industries
An environment that values diverse perspectives, experimentation, and craft — where product thinking, storytelling, and user advocacy truly matter
