Job summary

D&H Group LLP, a Vancouver CPA firm, is seeking a Private Company Manager to lead private company engagements and mentor staff. You will oversee prep and review of financial statements and tax returns, and work with partners to deliver proactive business advice to clients.

This role offers growth within a mid-sized firm, exposure to diverse industries, and opportunities to shape internal processes and staff development while maintaining high client service standards.

Qualifications

• CPA designation in good standing.
• 2+ years of Canadian public practice experience with private company clients.
• Strong knowledge of ASPE, compilation and review engagements, and corporate and personal tax requirements.
• Experience reviewing financial statements and tax returns for private companies.
• Proficiency with CaseWare, Taxprep, Microsoft Office Suite and other accounting software.
• Excellent client relationship and communication skills with the ability to explain technical matters clearly.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple engagements and deadlines.
• Demonstrated leadership with mentoring and staff development.

Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse portfolio of privately held businesses across industries and act as the primary client contact.
• Review compilation and review engagement files, corporate and personal tax returns for accuracy and compliance.
• Develop client relationships by understanding business objectives and providing practical advice.
• Manage engagement planning, budgets, timelines, and workflow to meet deadlines.
• Supervise, coach, and mentor staff and senior accountants with technical guidance and feedback.
• Collaborate with partners on client planning opportunities, practice development, and process improvements.
• Contribute to technical training and knowledge sharing within the firm.
