Job summary

Quilt is seeking a Developmental Support Worker / Personal Support Worker to assist a bariatric client at Cardinal Heights, ON. The role focuses on mobility support, transfers with two-person assist, personal care, meal prep, light housekeeping, and companionship.

You'll work weekends (Sat/Sun 12:00–14:00 and 17:00–19:00) with occasional flexibility; you must be reliable, compassionate, and discreet, fluent in English, and comfortable with lifts and two-person transfers.

Qualifications

• Experience providing bariatric care.
• Comfortable with mechanical lifts and two-person transfer technique.
• Ability to plan and prepare meals independently.
• Provide personal care with dignity and respect.
• Reliable and punctual; strong communication skills.
• Fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Mobility assistance and transfers using mechanical lift equipment.
• Two-person assist for all lift transfers.

About the Client:

The client is bariatric, weighs 350+ lbs., and requires two-person assists when using lifts. They need support with mobility, personal care, meals, and light housekeeping, including help with bathing and dressing. They are looking for a caregiver who is steady, easy to be around, and able to build a consistent routine with them.

Split-shift schedule required: 12-2pm and 5-7pm daily with some flexibility. Client needs transfer assistance and bathing support. Laundry and cleaning included in daily tasks.

Client is bariatric and requires two-person assist. Each visit will consist of accompanied Ontario Health at Home support for two-person lifting.
