Job summary

Next Youth Job is seeking a responsible home support worker/caregiver to help care for an elderly mother with a disability in Burlington, Ontario. The role involves in-home care, possible live-in accommodation at no charge, and a stable full-time, permanent schedule.

Wage is $22 per hour for 30–44 hours per week. Employment requires English proficiency, secondary education with home support training, and prior care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Secondary or higher education with home support related courses.
• At least six months of work experience preferred.
• First aid certification preferred.
• English language required.

Responsibilities

• Administer bedside and personal care.
• Assist clients with water activities.
• Assist in regular exercise such as walking.
• Oversee household in the absence of the householder.
• Feed or assist feeding.
• Change non-sterile dressings.
• Shop for food and household supplies.
• Provide personal care.
• Provide companionship.
• Plan therapeutic diets and menus.
• Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties.
• Assist with bathing and personal hygiene.
• Prepare and serve nutritious meals.

We are looking for one responsible home support worker/caregiver to help take care of our elderly mother with a disability in Burlington, ON.

Work in employer’s/client’s home. Public transportation is available. Optional accommodation is available at no charge on a live-in basis. Note: This is not a condition of employment.

Terms of employment: Full time, Permanent.

Wage: $22/Hour @ 30 – 44 hours per week.

Target Audience

Qualifications

Education: Secondary (high) School Certificate, College or other courses related in home support. First aid certification is preferred.

Work experience: Six months work experience is preferred.

Languages: English.
