Job summary

L.P. Custom Machining Ltd. in Hamilton, Ontario is seeking a diligent welder/fabricator to join our shop floor.

You will read blueprints, set up and operate SMAW, GTAW, GMAW and FCAW processes to fabricate and repair metal parts in a fast-paced industrial setting. Requirements include 7 months to less than 1 year of welding experience, an other trades certificate or diploma (or equivalent experience), on-site work, and the ability to handle heavy loads and stand for long periods.

Qualifications

• 7 months to less than 1 year welding experience.
• On-site work only (no remote).
• Other trades certificate or diploma or equivalent experience required.
• English language proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Interpret welding process specifications.
• Operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment.
• Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals and processes.
• Examine welds and ensure they meet standards and specifications.
• Operate flame-cutting equipment.
• Fit, braze and torch-straighten metal.
• Operate oxygen arc cutting equipment (arc-air).
• Operate welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products.
• Operate brazing or soldering machines to bond metal.
• Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding equipment.
