Job description
Overview

Plumber position located in Kenora, ON. This is a full-time, permanent role with on-site work.

Responsibilities
  • Install domestic, commercial or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems
  • Repair domestic, commercial or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems
  • Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine layout of plumbing system, water supply network and waste and drainage systems
  • Instruct apprentices
  • Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes and fixtures in walls and floors
  • Cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings
  • Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement or soldering, brazing and welding equipment
  • Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges
  • Determine piping system requirements and pipe sizing
  • Estimate costs and materials
  • Measure, cut, thread and bend pipes to required shape and size
Qualifications
  • Education: Other trades certificate or diploma
  • Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses: Backflow prevention Certification, Plumber Trade Certification, Working at heights training, Driver's License (Class 3 or D), Natural Gas License, Liquefied Petroleum Gas License, Plumber Red Seal Certificate, Gas Fitter Red Seal Certificate
  • Experience: Experience an asset
  • Rail/vehicle: Own transportation; Vehicle supplied by employer; Valid driver's licence
