Position Summary

The Plant Manager, under the direction of the Vice President of Manufacturing, will primarily oversee the manufacturing environment. This role involves developing strategic performance metrics aligned with company goals, seeking opportunities to improve efficiencies, and leading continuous improvement initiatives. The Plant Manager must demonstrate leadership, adaptability, and innovation, serving as a positive role model in the workplace.

Responsibilities: What you’ll do
  • Foster a work environment committed to health, safety, and wellness, ensuring safe work practices are followed.
  • Conduct meetings with supervisors to communicate team targets, goals, and projects.
  • Support and mentor plant supervisors and lead hands.
  • Collaborate with human resources on employee issues and assist supervisors with shop floor documentation.
  • Work with the Production Manager to monitor the Quality Control program and ensure staff adherence to standards.
  • Oversee the production office through communication with schedulers.
  • Manage a succession plan in coordination with supervisors and HR to identify potential for employee promotion.
  • Coordinate with maintenance to ensure proper equipment maintenance.
  • Monitor plant efficiencies and ensure production lines operate as required.
  • Assist sales with rush order requests.
  • Hold staff accountable for performance objectives.
  • Promote continuous improvement and champion organizational change.
  • Translate strategic goals into actionable plans.
  • Stay informed about new trends in manufacturing.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Experience coaching and developing supervisor-level employees.
  • Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret goals, objectives, and policies.
  • Capability to initiate and lead positive change.
  • Strong business acumen and leadership skills.
  • Understanding of manufacturing industry issues.
  • Experience developing and implementing KPIs.
  • Problem-solving skills with strategic and creative solutions.
  • Delegation skills with ability to set expectations and monitor progress.
  • Analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills.
