Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Plant Manager to join the Electrical Wiring Systems (EWS) Team in Mississauga, ON. Reporting to the VP Operations - EWS Division, this position leads all aspects of plant operations with responsibilities for ensuring financial achievement, operational performance (safety, quality, service, cost, productivity, and working capital), and employee engagement.

What Will You Do?

  • Ensure a safe work environment through safety programs, regulatory compliance, and fostering a safety culture.
  • Maintain quality systems to meet customer and company standards.
  • Develop and implement the vision and strategy for the facility.
  • Lead the plant to meet financial and operational goals including safety, quality, service, cost, productivity, and working capital.
  • Identify and address operational barriers proactively.
  • Support growth initiatives such as capacity expansion, product launches, and projects.
  • Communicate plant priorities and performance regularly to all employees.
  • Utilize the Legrand Way tools and Daily Management system to meet targets and resolve issues.
  • Drive continuous improvement and waste elimination through Lean tools and employee engagement.
  • Act as the primary contact for facility-related concerns, interfacing with executives, customers, and suppliers.
  • Lead performance management activities including goal setting, performance review, and salary administration.
  • Benchmark against external companies to improve performance.
  • Develop employees and organizational capabilities to meet short and long-term goals.
  • Identify and secure approval for large projects to improve plant performance.
  • Implement plant improvements via capital projects and maintenance.
  • Ensure data collection and reporting for performance tracking and problem-solving.
  • Develop and manage the annual budget.
  • Foster a positive working environment through training, communication, and issue resolution.
  • Lead efforts to achieve high customer service levels and promote a customer-focused culture.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications

Education: BS degree required; Master’s preferred in Business, Engineering, Science, or related fields.

Experience: At least 10 years in manufacturing roles, with 5+ years supervising both hourly and salaried staff, and extensive lean manufacturing experience.

Certifications: Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt preferred.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Thorough knowledge of manufacturing methods, processes, and equipment.
  • Experience with process improvement and quality initiatives.
  • Proven ability to apply Lean tools and foster a continuous improvement culture.
  • Track record of achieving results against objectives.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
  • Basic financial acumen including P&L, working capital, and variances.
  • Proficient in computer skills including MS Office and web resources.
  • Effective communicator across all organizational levels.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Ability to promote innovation and change.
  • Solid understanding of business functions and operational metrics.
