Join Our Team as Via Two Plant Manager: Shaping the Future of Battery Technology

About Vianode

Vianode is an advanced battery materials company providing sustainable anode graphite solutions for the battery and EV value chains in North America and Europe. Vianode’s breakthrough solution enables tailored high-performance synthetic anode graphite and holistic sustainability offering a 90% reduction in CO2 footprint. Vianode operates the world's most sustainable full-scale anode graphite plant for batteries at Herøya Norway.

The next step involves executing a multi-billion dollar phased investment program dedicated to establishing large-scale plants across North America and Europe.

Vianode’s long-term ambition is to supply advanced battery materials to 3 million EVs per year by 2030. Vianode is owned by the world-leading financial company Altor.

About the Role

This is a rare and exciting opportunity for an experienced Plant Manager to have overseeingresponsibility ofthe operations, development, and financial performance of our Via Two plant in Canada. Responsibilities include taking part in the operational preparedness of the project through to successful operations, leading the various Plant Operations Teams,managing EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety), production, maintenance, and quality. The position also requires the implementation and utilization of the Vianode Business System, driving digitalization initiatives, andmaintaining effective communication with authorities and the local communities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Project Team and various global Corporate Functions to ensureoperational preparedness for Via Two
  • Establish relationships and maintain strong connections with authorities and the local community
  • Develop operational procedures and training programs for successful implementation and execution
  • Partner with the HR Team for talent acquisitionto build a high performance Operations Team
  • Address HR matters in line with established policies and processes
  • Lead plant operations, manage and support various teams within the plant
  • Foster team work in the plant and develop leadership skills among all employees in the assigned area
  • Take responsibility for budgeting and achieving financial targets
  • EHS and Operational KPIs: Ensure the assigned area meets Environmental, Health, and Safety standards and operational key performance indicators
  • Drive continuous improvement including process technology fordevelopment, and profitability of the plant
  • Lead and participate in relevant meetings, periodically review, update, follow up, and report on targets

EHS Responsibilities

  • Adhere to EHS policies - conducting work tasks in accordance with Vianode's Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies and practices
  • Act as a role model with a high level of EHS focus and consciousness
  • Ensure that direct reports comply with EHS standards, policies, and rules
  • Oversee site safety activities within the plant
  • Demonstrate commitment and leadership to achieve an incident-free safety culture
  • Ensure that employees receive neededtraining and education on EHS matters
  • Address any observed safety and environmental issues promptly
  • Discuss safety concerns openly and bring them to the attention of relevant stakeholders
  • Identify opportunities for EHS improvements and assist in implementing corrective actions

  • Demonstrated experience in relevant leadership roles, preferably within large organizations
  • Strong interest and ability to comprehend Vianode’s product portfolio and production processes
  • Excellent ability to understand and address customer needs
  • Strong business acumen and commercial awareness
  • Proficiency in English with excellent relationship building and management skills
  • Effective time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently
  • Capability to coordinate and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong network andability to establishrelationshipswith thelocal community and authority
  • Global mindset with experience working in cross-cultural environment
  • Mobility and openness to travel

Location: Onsite, South West Ontario (specific location TBC)

  • Onsite with visits to engineering offices, contractor offices and sites for walkthrough and other team meetings
