Job summary

Dynacare in Ontario is seeking a Laboratory Assistant - FLOAT to collect blood samples and other specimens, perform routine patient tests, and support a positive patient experience in a busy lab setting. You will enter data for Ministry of Health requisitions, perform phlebotomy with care, and help maintain quality metrics while demonstrating empathy and calmness for anxious patients.

This permanent, part-time role offers day shifts across London, Strathroy, and Newbury, with a 15-hour weekly

Qualifications

Completed Secondary School and a laboratory assistant training program with phlebotomy training.
Customer-focused with genuine care for patient health.
Skilled in phlebotomy and calming anxious patients.
Detail-oriented and deadline-conscious.
Proficient in English (written and spoken).
MLPAO/CSMLS certification strongly recommended.

Responsibilities

Create an ideal customer experience that is best in class.
Enter data accurately for Ministry of Health requisitions.
Obtain quality blood samples using venipuncture.
Sort specimens and perform ECGs, Holter hookups, paternity, urine, drug and breath alcohol collections.
Ensure documentation and specimens are ready for data entry and transport per SOPs.
Maintain confidentiality and support quality metrics and compliance.
