Job summary

University Health Network (UHN) is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join the Pharmacy team at Toronto Rehab - Multiple Sites. This temporary full-time position reports to the Manager and offers a wage range of $27.56 - $34.45 per hour with 37.5 hours per week.

The role requires completion of a Pharmacy Technician program, active registration, and strong communication skills. Prior hospital experience with unit dose and IV admixture is preferred.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Pharmacy Technician Program at an accredited college or recognized equivalent.
• Registration as a Pharmacy Technician (Part A) in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists.
• Ability to work under minimal supervision and to manage competing priorities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to learn and troubleshoot changing technologies/machinery.
• Two years practical and related experience preferred.
• Previous hospital experience with unit dose system and intravenous admixture service, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Independently performing all technical aspects of prescription preparation including compounding and dispensing responsibilities, as per master worksheets.
• Replenishing stock medication supplies for assigned areas.
• Ensuring patient information is updated and maintained in the pharmacy computer system.
• Completing all required reports and documentation.
• Attending, participating and assisting in staff and patient training/educational functions.
• Performing workload measurement support functions.
• Performing cross-functional and/other duties consistent with the job classification, as assigned or requested
