Job summary

UHN West Park Campus Pharmacy is seeking a part-time Pharmacy Technician to perform all technical aspects of prescription preparation, including compounding and dispensing, while maintaining patient data in the pharmacy computer system.

The role requires Pharmacy Technician Program completion and active registration (Part A) with the Ontario College of Pharmacists, with two years of related hospital experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Pharmacy Technician Program at an accredited college or recognized equivalent.
• Registration as a Pharmacy Technician (Part A) in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and dispense medications, including compounding as per worksheets.
• Replenish stock in assigned areas and maintain accurate inventory.
• Update patient information in the pharmacy computer system.
• Complete required reports and documentation.
• Participate in staff and patient training sessions.

Union: Non-Union New or Replacement: New Site: UHN West Park Campus - 170 Emmett Ave. Department: Pharmacy Reports to: Pharmacy Manager III Wage Range: $27.56 $34.45 per hour. Hours: 22.5 Hours per Week Shifts: Days and Weekends Status: Permanent Part-Time Closing Date: October 8, 2026

Duties

• Independently performing all technical aspects of prescription preparation including compounding and dispensing responsibilities, as per master worksheets;
• Replenishing stock medication supplies for assigned areas;
• Ensuring patient information is updated and maintained in the pharmacy computer system;
• Completing all required reports and documentation
• Attending, participating and assisting in staff and patient training/educational functions
• Performing workload measurement support functions
• Performing cross-functional and/other duties consistent with the job classification, as assigned or requested

• Completion of a Pharmacy Technician Program at an accredited college or recognized equivalent required
• Registration as a Pharmacy Technician (Part A) in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists required
• Ability to work under minimal supervision and to manage competing priorities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to learn and troubleshoot changing technologies/machinery
• Two years practical and related experience preferred
• Previous hospital experience with unit dose system and intravenous admixture service, preferred
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the job
