Job summary

Safeway is hiring pharmacy assistants to join our patient-centered team in New Westminster, BC. You will assist with prescription assembly, data entry, and customer service while maintaining accuracy and compliance with pharmacy standards.

We look for friendly, detail-oriented professionals who can multitask in a fast-paced environment and support a range of pharmacy operations, including compounding and profile programs. Prior pharmacy experience is preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prescription assembly – data entry.
• Process customer transactions for prescriptions.
• Receive in-person and telephone refill requests and record deliveries.
• Promote Profile programs.
• Compounding and pill pack assembly.
• Filing, ordering supplies, and administrative duties.
• Schedule professional clinical services (e.g., med reviews, health risk assessments).

• Pill Pack Assembly


• Filing prescriptions, ordering and replenishing supplies, cleaning


• Drug order creation and receiving


• Schedule professional clinical services (i.e. medication reviews, health risk assessments, disease state managements etc.)


• BTC management


• Administrative Duties: cycle counts, narcotic counts, return to stocks, TML’s, manual third parties


• Adhere to and implement all applicable company standards


• Assist with other pharmacy operations as required

What you bring to the table:

• Preferred: Pharmacy Assistant Diploma from a recognized post-secondary institute


• Previous pharmacy experience is an asset


• Excellent attention to detail, ability to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced environment


• Adhere to and implement all applicable company standards
