Job summary

Safeway in Surrey, BC is seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant to join our team. You’ll assist with prescription assembly, data entry, and patient interactions as part of a patient-centered pharmacy operation.

You will handle in-person and phone refill requests, compounding, pill pack assembly, and routine administrative duties while supporting clinical services scheduling and prescription management. Experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Preferred: Pharmacy Assistant Diploma from a recognized post-secondary institute.
• Previous pharmacy experience is an asset
• Excellent attention to detail, ability to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Adhere to and implement all applicable company standards

Responsibilities

• Prescription assembly – data entry
• Process customer transactions (receive and release prescriptions)
• Receive in-person and telephone refill requests and record deliveries
• Promote Profile programs
• Compounding
• Pill Pack Assembly
• Filing prescriptions, ordering and replenishing supplies, cleaning
• Drug order creation and receiving
• Schedule professional clinical services (i.e. medication reviews, health risk assessments, disease state managements etc.)
• BTC management
• Administrative Duties: cycle counts, narcotic counts, return to stocks, TML’s, manual third parties
• Adhere to and implement all applicable company standards
• Assist with other pharmacy operations as required
