Job summary

Safeway in Penticton is seeking a friendly, knowledgeable Pharmacy Assistant to join our team. You will assemble prescriptions, enter data, and process customer transactions while delivering patient-centered care.

The role involves handling refill requests, compounding, pill pack assembly, filing, ordering supplies, and supporting clinical services as part of a busy pharmacy team in a community setting.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy Assistant Diploma from a recognized post-secondary institute.
• Previous pharmacy experience is an asset.
• Excellent attention to detail, ability to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Adhere to and implement all applicable company standards.

Responsibilities

• Prescription assembly – data entry.
• Process customer transactions (receive and release prescriptions).
• Receive in-person and telephone refill requests and record deliveries.
• Promote Profile programs.
• Compounding.
• Pill Pack Assembly.
• Filing prescriptions, ordering and replenishing supplies, cleaning.
• Drug order creation and receiving.
• Schedule professional clinical services (e.g., medication reviews, health risk assessments, disease state management).
• BTC management.
• Administrative duties: cycle counts, narcotic counts, return to stocks, TMLs, manual third parties.
• Adhere to and implement all applicable company standards.
• Assist with other pharmacy operations as required.
