Job summary

Lawtons in Kentville, Nova Scotia is seeking a friendly Pharmacy Assistant to join our patient-centered team. You will assist with prescription assembly, data entry, and processing in-person and phone refill requests while upholding the highest standards of accuracy and care.

Prior diploma is preferred; strong attention to detail, multitasking ability, and reliable work ethic are essential to support compounding, pill pack assembly, inventory, and everyday pharmacy operations.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy assistant diploma is preferred.
• Previous pharmacy experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Assemble prescriptions and data entry.
• Process in-person and telephone prescription requests.
• Receive and record refill requests and deliveries.
• Assist with compounding and pill pack assembly.
• Filing, stocking, and cleaning; ensure inventory accuracy.
• Support pharmacy operations and adhere to company standards.

• Prescription assembly – data entry


• Process customer transactions (receive and release prescriptions)


• Receive in-person and telephone refill requests and record deliveries


• Promote Profile programs


• Compounding


• Pill Pack Assembly


• Filing prescriptions, ordering and replenishing supplies, cleaning


• Drug order creation and receiving


• Schedule professional clinical services (i.e. medication reviews, health risk assessments, disease state managements etc.)


• BTC management


• Administrative Duties: cycle counts, narcotic counts, return to stocks, TML’s, manual third parties


• Adhere to and implement all applicable company standards


• Assist with other pharmacy operations as required

What you bring to the table:

• Preferred: Pharmacy Assistant Diploma from a recognized post-secondary institute


• Previous pharmacy experience is an asset


• Excellent attention to detail, ability to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced environment


• Adhere to and implement all applicable company standards
