Job summary

Safeway in Edmonton is seeking a Pharmacy Assistant to join our team and support a patient-centered approach to care. You will be responsible for prescription assembly, data entry, processing transactions, and handling refill requests with accuracy and a friendly demeanor.

You will also assist with compounding, pill pack assembly, filing, inventory, and administrative duties while upholding all company standards and delivering exceptional service to patients in our community.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy Assistant Diploma preferred.
• Previous pharmacy experience is an asset.
• Excellent attention to detail, ability to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Adhere to and implement all applicable company standards.

Responsibilities

• Prescription assembly and data entry.
• Process customer transactions (receive and release prescriptions).
• Receive in-person and telephone refill requests and record deliveries.
• Promote Profile programs.
• Compounding.
• Pill Pack Assembly.
• Filing prescriptions and replenishing supplies.
• Drug order creation and receiving.
• Schedule professional clinical services (e.g., medication reviews, health risk assessments).
• BTC management.
• Administrative duties: cycle counts, narcotic counts, return to stocks, TMLs, manual third parties.
• Assist with other pharmacy operations as required.

What you bring to the table:

• Preferred: Pharmacy Assistant Diploma from a recognized post-secondary institute
• Previous pharmacy experience is an asset
